"You kids keep your noses clean, you understand? You'll be hearing from me if you don't. We ain't gonna stand for no weirdness out here."

Officer Dorf (no first name given) was a character in the film Friday the 13th. A strict, no-nonsense type with little use for teenagers or small talk, Dorf was a big-city motorcycle cop prior to joining the Crystal Lake police force.

Biography[]

Dorf, while looking for local eccentric Crazy Ralph in 1979 stops by Camp Crystal Lake on his motorcycle to talk to the counselors hired by Steve Christy to fix up the old camp for reopening. Instantly disliking most of the counselors, Dorf begins badgering them and questioning them about if they've been using any drugs before telling the kids he was looking for Ralph. Ultimately forced to leave after getting a call from dispatch over the radio Dorf takes off, telling the counselors that he will be keeping an eye on them so they better keep their noses clean.[1]

In the morning after Pamela Voorhees goes on a murder spree at Camp Crystal Lake, killing all but Alice Hardy before being decapitated, Dorf and another officer drive up to the lakefront in a cruiser and spot Alice lying unconscious in a boat out on the lake. Calling out to the girl, Dorf and his partner briefly rouse Alice to consciousness before swimming out to bring her ashore.[1]

According to Simon Hawke's novel, Dorf often squinted in order to look mean; this instead made him look nearsighted. He had a tendency to special-order "white elephants" for himself and/or the Crystal Lake PD; such included a supply of bulletproof vests, despite the small town's lack of criminal activity. Dorf believed in a strong police presence as a deterrent to would-be-lawbreakers; he always spit-shined his riding boots and pressed his uniform. He was also fiercely proud and protective of his motorcycle, for which he'd frequently buy such accessories as a leather shotgun-case, along with a tailpipe sticker which read "If you value your life as much as I value this bike, don't mess with the latter." His superior, Sgt. Tierney, kept making him remove most of these accessories...typically with a mild reprimand ("You're supposed to be writing up speeders, not chasing down stagecoach robbers"; "I don't think we need those, Dorf. Butch and Sundance haven't ridden through this part of the country in over a century").

Trivia[]

  • Ron Millkie had never ridden a motorcycle before filming his scene. This is why he is a little bit shaky as he rides off after speaking to the campers.
