"My mother never said who my father was. She mentioned a guy on the station that she had an affair with, but said it wasn't him. She never said anything else. Just that it was better not to know, and that it didn't matter who he was, that she loved me, and I was nothing like him. I was special, decent, and nothing like him."
―Free Jefferson[src]

Free Jefferson is a character from the novel Jason X: To the Third Power. He is also the son of Jason Voorhees and London Jefferson. While at first unaware of his parentage (his mother having kept it secret from him) Free discovers he is Jason's son and the result of a genetic experiment conducted by Prof. Claude Bardox while working on one of Earth II's moons, where Jason himself is being held, unknown to everyone except the AI running the facility. In the end, when Jason escapes containment, Free manages to survive by launching his "father" into space, onto Earth II's second, uninhabitable moon. Left alone on the moon (everyone else having been slaughtered by Jason or each other) Free has only the AI for company as he awaits a rescue that may not come.

Trivia

  • Due to his father's abilities and half of Free's DNA is from him he may have gotten some powers from his father Jason. However, this may or may not be true, as Jason's powers are the result of supernatural forces, not genetics.
  • Killing runs in Jefferson's family. Pamela Voorhees was a killer, Jason Voorhees is a killer, and Jefferson is a killer.
