Jim Carlson's death at the hands of Jason Voorhees
Chief Petty Officer R. James "Jim" Carlson was a character in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, an assistant to Adm. Robertson, and a victim of Jason Voorhees. He appears familiar with the admiral, who inappropriately addresses him by his given name. He wears the uniform of a chief petty officer in the United States Navy, with the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Insignia (which would entitle him to place the designator "(SW)" after his rating); he wears a name tag reading "R. Carlson". He was murdered in cold blood by Voorhees while in the pilot house of the S.S. Lazarus while at sea. He was stabbed 3 times with a harpoon, becoming Jason Voorhees' 74th victim. His body along with the bodies of John Robertson, Miles Wolfe, an unnamed male boxer, Deckhand, Eva Watanabe, J.J. Jarrett, Wayne Webber and Tamara Mason will forever be on the S.S. Lazarus at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
