New York (alias New York City, NYC, The Big Apple, or NY, NY) is a city in the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut). It's split in five boroughs; Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island. It was also part of the 13 Original English Colonies and was settled in 1624.
374 years later, a cruise ship, the S.S. Lazarus, which was to ferry the graduating class of Lakeview High from Crystal Lake to New York had a stowaway, Jason Voorhees. Jason dispatched much of the graduates and presumably all of the crew aboard. A handful of Survivors made it to Manhattan where Jason killed all but two until he was washed away in the NYC sewers below Time Square. By the year 2455 in the future, it can be assumed that much like the rest of Earth, the city is in ruins.
