Tina McCarthy was a character in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning and the girlfriend of Eddie Kelso .
Biography
Tina was a patient at Pinehurst Youth Development Center. Her reason for being there was unknown but presumably she had behavior and attitude issues like the others. Tina and her beloved boyfriend were frequently getting into trouble for having sex in inappropriate places. She witnesses him get beat up by the new patient, Tommy Jarvis, after his prank on him goes awry. Later on, as soon as Eddie convinces her to sneak out and have sex in the outdoors, she tells him that they shouldn't but goes along with it anyway. After they finish smoking, they both take off their clothes. Tina lies on the sheet as Eddie gets on top of her. As they are having sex, they are spied on by Raymond but he is killed as they are moaning. Eddie and Tina finished shortly after, with Tina lying on the bed sheet on the ground exposed after telling him to hurry back with her last line "Hurry back!" before he replied "I'm hurrying!". She screamed in horror and was murdered when Jason Voorhees' copycat stabs her eyes and gouges them out with hedge shears, killing her off-screen. Her screams were not heard by Eddie, but her mutilated face was seen by him a few seconds before he was killed as well. She was buried alongside him at their funeral.
Trivia
Tina's actor coincidentally shares the last name of the franchise's main killer, Jason Voorhees.
In the beta version, the hedge shears were shown clearly going into her eye-sockets. It was censored by the request of the MMPA.
